Novel Summary

When he woke up, Wen Chi transmigrated into a book.

In the book, the protagonist accidentally obtained a system, and with the help of the system, he pretended to be sick and escaped his engagement with the disabled Crown Prince. Then, at the peach blossom banquet, he demonstrated his extraordinary talent and attracted the attention of the fourth prince…

Finally, everything went well between the protagonist shou and the fourth prince and they fell in love very deeply. The fourth prince overthrew the rule of the previous emperors and became a model royal husband.

However…….

Wen Chi transmigrated and became the cannon fodder brother of the protagonist shou, and he was the one who was forced to replace the protagonist to marry the disabled Crown Prince.

It was rumored that the disabled Crown Prince was burned by fire five years ago. Not only was his face disfigured, but his legs also ended up being disabled. He lived deep in the Eastern Palace and stayed behind closed doors all year round. He had a very strange temper.

Only Wen Chi knew that the disabled Crown Prince would still become the emperor and became a famous tyrant in history. Unfortunately, he was later killed by the fourth prince for being too cruel. Even the cannon fodder, he was not spared, and he ended up tragically.

On the wedding night, the disabled Crown Prince grabbed Wen Chi’s chin. He sneered: “Here comes another one who wants to step on me to climb up.”

Wen Chi in silent tears: “No, no, no. I’m only sitting around waiting to die.”

The disabled Crown Prince: “???”

  1. One of the troubles of judging something, is the qualifications. How dare you judge something without knowing how it is like, what it means, or what it FEELS like? So judging this novel, and the relationship in it when the plot is in the ancient times, is..... Inaccurate so to say. So I'll try to be broad-minded.... The thing is, in the past, there was no idea of equality. People were not equal in any regard. So when people try to be in a relationship, they do it the primitive way. Like insects, they fight, poke, rape, kill, eat. It's nature's way, so I will try to talk about the inequality in their relationship in the most logical way I can. //////////// Courageous crybaby Shou × Cold Royal Emperor Gong. The early part of their relationship is heartbreaking. The Shou is forced, left with no choices, and is powerless. If it were the original (before MC transmigrated), it would come as natural to him. However, the Shou, with the perspective of "equality" of the modern times, made their beliefs difficult to respect each other. They just can't comprehend it. They show their affection in the WORST ways. Gong thinks it's mercy not to be forced, not to be killed, and he is right in his own way. While Shou thinks that having no choice and not being in equal standing is wrong. This continues on to the latter part of their relationship, BUT WITH GROWTH. The Gong learns to be soft, to relent, and to step down inspite of his position, where he can kill anyone as long as it displeases him. And even though the Shou stays in his beliefs, he learns the Gong's beliefs, of how much effort the Gong poured despite of his power. In respect of that, I think they're relationship is.... I still can't think of it as lovely. But it's sweet, regardless. ///////// The plot is conflicting, like the paradox "this statement is false". The words, statements, and events conflicts themselves, with no reason but rhyme. And I think it's amazing that way. My only pity is that MC can't use most of his modern knowledge and wasn't used in their relationship. Nevertheless, the plot is still awesome and confusing. Which is worth a read. //////// Overall, if you saw this, read it WITH AN OPEN MIND. Though I don't recommend it to everyone because of the comments down below.

  2. Ngl I would have had Ruotao beat for locking down my body ans forcing medicine down my throat. Absolutely no trust and would allow them to stay near me. They are a danger, if there is a time when they think they are doing best and override orders... nah, Ruotao should not be allowed to do that without punishment.

  3. The subsequent kidnapping was literally because of a loss of trust in Ruotao. If the Mc could trust them and not be afraid of being forced to do something by his own servant, it wouldn't have happeneded 💁‍♀️
