Not a bad zombie apocalypse novel - although the author took the worst bits of many other zombie rebirth novels, there are some funny bits. But also, years and years of fighting. Just replace “zombie” with “vampire” and you’ll see how the author was trying to show how people might still regard zombies as people that they once knew. Not an entirely successful effort so the author also threw in a pretty useless system, bad sister/good sister tropes and rampant sexism. Also, an ending so abrupt it’s WTF? Despite all these bad pints, I finished it. Fighting techniques were interesting, I liked how the heroine’s space worked and I love mutant plants as pets. 3 of 5 stars.
