From what I recall it wasn't romantic but dull and sickening, like a tragic past, more depression, and there was no real resolution everything stayed sooo insipid yet tragic. I don't recall much of the plot (because aside from the summary there wasn't much) just ended up feeling like when you walk without purpose and go nowhere.
