Novel Summary

When the Film Empress Jing Xiu’s wedding was in progress, Weibo was swept away by a local bombarding news — “The New Film Empress Ji Youyan Passed Away From Alcoholism”.

Soon after, another headline broke out——the wedding was cancelled for some reason.

Ji Youyan woke up from her sleep and was shocked to realize that she had returned three years before those events.

She returned in the second year after she broke up with Jing Xiu.

This time, she swore to never lose her.

In those times when we missed each other, we still loved each other.

The stars shine brightly on the clear sky. If I’m not by your side, time would be wasted in vain.

  1. I have a question, like I'm Vietnamese, English is not my native language so I don't understand why the third person "he" and "his" are used for the main female character Ji Youyan. Isn't this Yuri's genre and both main characters are female? Why did the translator use the third person of male to refer to female? Or is this just a quick translation that has not been carefully polished by the translator? If so, I can completely understand because Chinese pronouns are quite general, so using Google Translate will definitely make mistakes... I hope you will answer my questions, thank you.

  2. The novels here are machine translated, thus, the name itself - MTL. So these are just rough translations from the raw copies. And you're right, chinese pronouns are general/gender-neutral. You might find it confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of it.

  3. This book is quite amazing. Small details that don't seem important end up becoming very important sub plots to the winding road of intricacies that bind this whole story together. It's beautifully written, culturally accurate and very engaging to the point I was often smiling or feeling my heart drop depending on the circumstances per chapter. I'd say that this is very worth reading. The interactions are also very realistic and human. (They are also now adapting this story into a manga named Long-Awaited Feelings that as of writing this have 10 released chapters).

  4. Side note if the author wanted I would be totally willing to go through and edit this translation so that it is more clear to the readers!

  5. It relies VERY heavily on interrupting important conversations with phone calls, someone entering the room etc. Or one of the characters just being to shocked to speak so the other party just walks out. The book could probably be half as long if any of the characters were capable of basic communication.
