  1. Not a bad novel, this is less of a story and more of a social commentary on China linked together by a small cast of characters. Author slightly acknowledged racism and lgbtq+, but didn't go into details about it, which was as expected. There was also a nod towards the me too movement. Pretty average and talks about issues modern women, children and disabled in China would possibly face. I'll give it a 3/5, came for the cat but read to the end to see how that cat ended up.
