Novel Summary

I have never believed in the existence of gods. Even if someone tells me that the monsters of Loch Ness are pets kept by Martians, they are probably more real than Jehovah and Lao Tzu.

This thought of mine may really offend the gods, or a certain god wants to use influence to convince me of their existence.

Obviously, they succeeded.

I am starting to be suspicious. When I go to church, I will bow my head religiously and see a monk. I will put my hands together. If I can go to the Taoist temple, I will probably also put on the incense stick and make a wish.

Probably it may also be a masterpiece of aliens. They saw me as a “faithful atheist” and gave me a chance to experience it. Somalia’s star gates might really need to be closed to prevent those aliens from coming to Earth to play pranks—if that thing really exists.

In New York in 1948, a little girl named Catherine was born.

Catherine: My goal is to earn enough assets to squander 200 years in the first 20 years of life, and then spend them in 50 years!

  1. Hmmm I wonder why this novel in this site? In china it self this story have negative effect and many reader in there say that this story is not making any sense and it to forced.

  2. I think the story was reasonable until reaching 1000 chapters. After that it started degrading, especially the Mc's thoughts jumping all around.

  3. This story had great potential but due to the idiocy of the author this story was thoroughly destroyed in the later half.........the heavy psychological shadow that suddenly appears overnight on MC, her sudden personality change and indifference towards her family is a real moodkiller........the author's explanation on this sudden shift in MC's personality is unsatisfactory.

  4. The MC wants to invest 100 millions USD to create the TV show "Journey To West".........is there something wrong with the author's brain........investing $ 100 millions in a Chinese tv show in 70's.........due to cultural aspects a Chinese movie let alone a Chinese TV show would never have a large market in America or Europe.......in the 70's the main markets of the world were still North America, Europe and Japan........so where the fuck would that TV show broadcasted into....Africa??.......let alone other countries even in China this would result in severe loss.......of course in the last few chapter it has been made clear that the MC is mentally unstable and her thinking is very irrational which also contributes to this.

  5. Investing in the "jorney to the west" is not a completely irrational behavior. You may not know this but journey to the west is very well-known in China. Most people in China knows it and investing a mere 100 million dollars to get this popular IP is somewhat reasonable. Plus, China is a potential cash cow considering that it would become the most populated country in the world, having triple the population of the united states. The mc is not just investing in a tv show but to make it influential, the point is, she is trying to get a popular IP for a rather low price so that in the future, she could create movies and expand her influence. I think it is reasonable for mc to do this because she is a chinese in her previous life and nationalism is basically engraved in the author's bones. The chinese government has a strong control over the people. The reason why I didn't like this part is that I feel like the intent of the mc for doing this is for "China" and not for herself or her interests. Patriotism and nationalism is something I don't like about novels.

  6. Okay........now let's see......the MC is an American capitalist.........she is rubbing America to dirt in front of the delegation from China.......she has a renaissance of some old feelings for china which causes her to give them some advice for world domination........seriously what the fuck is going on??
